As Show-Me State legislators return to their offices this week, so does the fate of the Missouri historic tax credit return to their discussions. Three St. Louis-area locations will host call parties this Wednesday, March 27th, 4-6 pm. Information on this program and the current threat against it will be readily available for you to reference, and attendees will help answer your questions to best equip you to call your legislators in support of the historic tax credit. Choose to actively preserve this program, Missouri’s most successful economic development tool. Join the call party event at any of the following locations:
1. Downtown T-Rex in the Railway Exchange Building, 611 Olive St., 12th Floor. Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/498215220235627/
2. Pin-Up Bowl, 6191 Delmar Blvd. in the Loop (free parking behind building). Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/557524527613825/
3. SPACE Architecture and Design, 4168 Manchester Ave. in the Grove. Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SpaceLLC
4. Create your own, anywhere. Order a pizza and make some phone calls from home. Use the resources on this website (see Resources tab) to spread awareness to your friends and neighbors and encourage them to urge state legislators to oppose any reduction or change to the Missouri historic tax credit.
Can’t make any of these? Call & email your legislators on your own time. Remember to urge them not to reduce the cap on Missouri’s historic tax credit and remind them that in the effort of being fiscally responsible, other less successful programs can bear the cuts but there is no reason to cut the historic tax credit, which is the state’s best economic development tool. Visit this page to learn more about the program and why it’s preservation is essential to Missouri’s economic and cultural well-being.
